Meet the Hawkins Family...

Morris Tabor was born in a little town called Sims, Arkansas. He grew up listening to his dad and his uncles making music with guitars and fiddles. When he got out of the Air Force and came home he met Lou and her family at church. For many years he loaded and unloaded sound and was always committed to the Hawkins Family music ministry. Morris has been in, under and behind the wheel of "Old Blue" and worked along side of his father-in-law, Buddy Hawkins, to keep the family traveling down the road. When an opening to sing the bass part became available Morris stepped up to the microphone and has been part of the singing group ever since. He loves the Lord and is dedicated to spreading the word in song. He and Lou were married in July 1965.

Lou Tabor was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Growing up in a church pastored by her grandfather she was always at church and began playing vibraharp and marimba with the other musicians at an early age. Like most young girls Lou took piano lessons. After several years and several teachers her parents decided to give up on lessons. As she walked by the piano at home she began to play parts of songs she had heard. The next teacher introduced her to chords and a lifetime love for gospel music. When her father was ordained as a minister they traveled to Texas to hold tent revivals and The Hawkins Family was born. Lou began to play the piano and sing harmony with her family. She has played keyboard on all the group's recording projects and continues to choose the songs and arrange all the music today. A few years ago she had the honor of representing gospel music with a 20 minute solo performance in an event showcasing different styles of music. As the only traveling member of the original group, Lou has assumed the role of manager for the group's ministry which also includes Hickory Hill Park, an outdoor gospel music amphitheater in Hot Springs.

Terry LeMay resides in Whelen Springs, Arkansas and has been with the Hawkins Family since 2002. In addition to singing with the family he also serves as bus driver and sound engineer. Terry answered the call to music ministry in 1988 and started singing with his sister as they formed the Gospel Vocalaires. Later as new members were added and the group expanded their travels the name was changed to the LeMay's. In 1990, he accepted the call to preach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has served as a pastor and continues to preach revivals and special services when called. In the Spring he serves as President of the Arkansas Quartet Convention. Many Arkansas groups participate in the two-day event. Terry is married to Kimberly and they have two children, Joshua and Addison. It is their hearts desire to be about our Father's business.

Paul DeWeber was born in Pasco, WA and grew up in Durango, Colorado, Aztec, New Mexico and Kennewick, Washington. He started playing the fiddle at the age of 11. He competed in fiddle contests across the Northwest, placing in the top five in various contests. Paul surrendered his life to the Lord and began playing for the Lord in 1995. He has lived in Hot Springs since 1998. Paul joined the Hawkins Family Ministries in March of 2006. He accepted the call to preach the gospel and served as Pastor of Grenade Holiness Church for 2 years. He now concentrates on evangelistic work, and attends Bismarck Pentecostal Church. Paul was honored to be named 2010 GMAA Musician of the year. He resides in Hot Springs with his wife, Heather and sons, Jedidiah and Andrew. Paul's heart's desire is to share the Saviour's love with a dying world.

"There's a message that encourages the discouraged, lifts up the downhearted, excites the unexcited, and entertains the listener...it's called Gospel Music! Let us bring glory to God as we sing it…"
